A new discipline in astrophotography, nightscape combines celestial and terrestrial night landscapes on the same picture using specific techniques. The Moon, the Milky Way, the stars, the aurora borealis, the clouds, the seas, the mountains... appear in a new light and are sublimated.

With his expertise in astrophotography, and wanting to contribute to the development of the art of shooting and image processing, Franck Séguin (former photo editor of Ciel et Espace Photos) decided to create and organise the first edition of the Photo NightScape Awards - PNA in 2014.

Since then, the award has continued to grow and innovate. It now offers 5 categories, in which everyone can compete: NightScape, In Town, TimeLapse, SmartPhone and Black&White.

In 2021, the association Chasseurs de Nuits launches the 9th edition of the NightScape Photo Awards.
